Doing business in frontier and emerging markets is generally like doing business domestically . . . but with a lot more complications. At Xcelos, we get it. We’re not simply advisors. We’re also business people who do our own deals, so we understand and can help you with the common but frustrating issues that you’ll face. Here are some common issues that we help clients with:
There are few things more disappointing than having your deal fall apart because you can’t get financing. The Asian Development Bank estimates that there is a US$2 trillion deficiency for international trade and deal financing. This is acutely problematic for small and medium-sized companies who do deals in frontier and emerging markets.
We’ll help you find you financing from our own sources or from our partners so you can mitigate trade risks and unlock new markets.
Social risk is one of the greatest potential sources of disruption to your business, especially in frontier and emerging economies. Identifying and addressing your company’s social risk exposure will increase your business consistency and optimize your long-term returns. It can also help you identify potentially mispriced assets and attract new investors.
With our partner ENODO Global, the premier social risk advisory company, we can measure your exposure to risks stemming from population- based activities and negative public sentiment and help you mitigate the effects.
The United States is the largest consumer economy in the world. The market is generally open, permitting FDI and business formation by foreign companies. However, navigating the complicated legal and regulatory business environment can be challenging, especially for foreign companies unfamiliar with the overlapping federal, state and local framework. Additionally, cultural and business practices may vary from state to state.
We can help you to develop strategies and allocate resources so you can enter the US market successfully and develop opportunities for growth.
